Music in the Park
Music in the Park
July 2, 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Webster’s definition of the word reunited is: “to come together again,” and that is exactly what two longtime friends did. After performing together in a popular band in the late 70’s, these two talented performers went their separate ways. Bob Hladish married and raised his family in northern Wisconsin but continued to hone his gifted voice by staying involved in the local music scene. Lee Jones went on to be a member of Burst, a critically acclaimed professional group based out of Milwaukee. Burst performed at Summerfest, in clubs and at festivals throughout the Midwest and shared the stage with acts such as Bon Jovi, Head East, The Guess Who, Dr. Hook, Johnny Van Zant, Pure Prairie League and many more nationally known acts.
Debra Perkins was soon added to the lineup. Her keyboard skills, and vocals help give Reunited the vocal harmonies and fullness of sound rarely heard on the live stage. She also performs with the local community theater group, Northwoods Players, in Phillips.
John Kreiner, the latest addition, brings his mastery of multiple instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo and dobro) to the group. John comes with many years of performing and recording experience. He also “reunited” with his talented sister, Debra, after many years of performing separately.
Now that they are all together as Reunited, their blend of fine vocal harmonies, musicianship and professional stage performance are gaining acclaim across Wisconsin and the UP of Michigan. Their music includes selections from Neil Young, Bob Seeger, Tom Petty, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, along with a mixture of country classics, folk, original compositions, and much more.
This show will be in the Veterans’ Memorial Pavilion. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All shows start at 6 pm and end at 8 pm. For the second year, there will be food and drink vendors on site. In case of rain, the shows will be held at the Tee-a-Way. This band is co-sponsored by Ladysmith Federal Savings and Loan. While the concert is free, donations from the audience help the Rusk Area Arts Alliance promote and provide the shows. Next week’s act is the Smokin’ Loons.

Music in the Park
Music in the Park
July 9, 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
The Best of the Best of the Upper Midwest, The Smokin’ Loons are the ideal combination of instrumental prowess and vocal excellence, with the result being a musical experience you won’t forget! The Smokin’ Loons feature Jack White on bass, Mickey White Mitchell with vocals and percussion, Gary Smith on acoustic guitar, and Texas Bob Scott on lead guitar.
The original members of the band, including Gary Smith and Jack White, got together during Covid in the spring/summer of 2020. They couldn’t go out and play so they just sat around Bear Lake at night singing around the campfire. Their harmonies started sounding really good, so they decided to put a band together doing songs by groups like The Eagles, The Beatles, CCR, America, Crosby, Still and Nash and others that people could sing along to. The Smokin’ Loons name comes from the campfire smoke and the loons out on the lake that would sing along with them.
At a “Loonie’s” show, you can expect acoustic and electric arrangements of many of your favorite songs, hot pickin’ guitars! Four vocalists featuring smooth, impeccable harmonies! Expect to dance and sing along with them. You won’t be able to resist the fun!
This show is Music in the Park’s “Pre-Mardi Gras Party! and will take place at the Veterans’ Memorial Pavilion. There will be cake, ice cream, and party favors, to begin this year’s Mardi Gras community celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All shows start at 6 pm and end at 8 pm. Food and drink vendors will be on site. In case of rain, the shows will be held at Mickey’s on Flambeau (former Tee-a-Way). This band is co-sponsored by Ladysmith Industrial Development Corporation. While the concert is free, donations from the audience help the Rusk Area Arts Alliance promote and provide the shows. Next week’s act is perennial favorite, Danville, sponsored by the Flambeau Valley Arts Association.

Music in the Park
Music in the Park
July 23, 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Although they were raised 100 miles apart, Kathy and Tim of the band Danville grew up listening to the same music. Being inspired by the songs of Peter, Paul & Mary, Simon and Garfunkel, and the Everly Brothers, it was natural for them to sing the same type of harmonies when they began performing together in college. Their duo became a quartet after their children, Casey and Joe, began performing with them. In recent years, as their children have grown, they most often play as a duo. Whether playing at concert halls, coffeehouses, churches or music festivals, they move their audiences from tears to laughter with songs and stories about love, family, children, memories and relationships. They call their musical style “acoustic contemporary folk”. Danville has played every year at Music in the Park since shows began in 2008. Their appearance is sponsored by the Flambeau Valley Arts Association. According to Deb Johnson, Executive Director of Heyde Center for the Arts: “Danville’s music wraps around you like a cozy blanket, bringing the warmth and familiarity of a heartfelt conversation at the kitchen table.”
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All shows start at 6 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. Food and drink vendors will be on site. In case of rain, the shows will be held at Mickey’s on Flambeau (former Tee-a-Way). While the concert is free, donations from the audience this week will go to the Flambeau Valley Arts Association. Next week’s show features the band Blue Moon Drive in the Legacy Amphitheater.

Marshall Star Band
Marshall Star Band
July 30, 2026, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
For more than a decade, Blue Moon Drive has been the powerhouse engine of the western Wisconsin regional music scene, living strictly by their motto: “Honky-tonk with an attitude.” With a rugged, high-energy sound that leans into “driving music,” they’ve built a reputation for turning every venue into a full-blown honky-tonk party. Their relentless schedule has seen them tear through over 200 shows, becoming a staple for crowds across the St. Croix and Chippewa valleys and the rural stretches north of Highway 8. Whether they’re playing a packed fairground or a local dive, Blue Moon Drive delivers a gritty, authentic performance that proves they aren’t just playing country—they’re fueling it.
Blue Moon Drive features RJ Feyereisen on drums, his father Bob Feyereisen on lead guitar and vocals, Dave Snyder on lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Rusk County native Al Canfield on bass. During its ten years, Blue Moon Drive has played bars, private parties, street dances, county and state fairs. After 10 years the band still going strong.
Area dance groups give Blue Moon Drive a big thumbs up, and dancers are encouraged to fill the Legacy Amphitheater dance floor for the Blue Moon Drive show, as this band is all about good beats and moving your feet!
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair or a blanket to sit on. All shows start at 6 pm and end at 8 pm. Food and drink vendors will be on site. In case of rain, the shows will be held at Mickey’s on Flambeau (former Tee-a-Way). This concert is co-sponsored by the Ladysmith Lions. While the concert is free, donations from the audience help the Rusk Area Arts Alliance promote and provide the shows. Next week’s act, back for their third year, is the Marshall Star Band.
