Dancer
Barry Lynn began his dance training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He has been a performer for sixty years, a teacher in dance and visual art for over fifty years. He toured across the United States as a solo dancer for fifteen years, appearing in Europe as well. He was the producer and director of his own theater in Salt Lake City for seven years, as well as the director/choreographer for four dance companies he formed. He was a production staff member in the dance department at the University of Utah for ten years and a teacher of dance at Westminster College.
Currently he is co-director of the Lynn Dance Company, managing a studio/performance space on the grounds of Chalice Stream, which he co-founded in rural northern Wisconsin in 1978 and where he has taught and performed for the past twenty-five years. He also teaches choreography at the Dancers’ Studio, Eau Claire, WI. The library of the University of Utah has compiled a complete photographic and bibliographic record of his career through 1978. Over 1000 photographs are included in the collection, the majority coming from the 500+ dances he has choreographed.
