Radio and television broadcasting was Arian’s chosen profession. However to pay the bills, he worked for an electric utility for thirty-four years before retiring in 2002. After moving to Wisconsin Arian worked for WLDY/WJBL in Ladysmith for two years.
Writing has been his interest for many years, especially the writing of short stories. Arian transcribed the wartime diary of a man from Bruce, WI who was held prisoner by the Japanese during WWII. Copies of the diary are at both the Rusk County Historical Society and the Bruce Historical Society.
Arian has also completed an 80,000 word book titled “The Paperboy–Memoirs of an eleven year old.” The book is a tour of a small town in central Minnesota through the eyes of a young boy who likes neither his station in life nor the town in which he is forced to live.
